(T4) Hands on Practical Training for MAS Solutions

Syllabus

Modern Arch Structures (MAS) construction is a simple formula for building a complex structure. However, all of the procedures and components are precisely designed for maximum results.  In this course you will be taught by experts the essential skills to build a specified component of the MAS system. There are five skill components required to build the MAS structure which are taught in 5 courses. Courses #C ,#D and #E are scheduled together for practicality.

  1. Form and SPiFolding (scaffolding) erection
  2. Reinforcing steel bending and placement
  3. Mixer and pump technician
  4. Shotcrete application
  5. Concrete Stamping and finishes

Course objectives for course A – Form and SPiFolding erection includes: Learning to recognize the forming and SPiFolding systems- How they assemble, loading, staging, and packing- Understanding how to utilize SPiFolding and form parts lists.

Course objectives for course B- Reinforcing steel bending and placement includes: The critical nature of properly placing reinforcing steel in MAS structures for both depth and offset- How to read a MAS bending chart, and how to perform both mechanical and machine bending for MAS in the field.

Course objectives for course C, D and E – Shotcrete Application and Concrete Stamping and Finishes includes: Set up, operation and cleaning of mixers and pump- Learning the MAS application and layering process -How to perform safe SPiFolding platform set-up.

Tests: One performance test and one written test will be given for each field area.

Work clothes including work boots, gloves, and safety glasses are required for all field classes.

Required skill sets: The MAS courses teach the MAS concepts within given skill sets. Specific trade skills pertaining to each course should be mastered before attending MAS concept courses.
