MAS™ Team Asked to Collaborate with Utah Channel 3 on Las Vegas Pool & Spa Show Coverage
While it is well known that MAS™ has developed world renowned shotcrete experience, we were still surprised when MAS™ was asked to assist Utah Channel 3 to cover the Pool and Spa convention in Las Vegas this week.
Utah Channel 3 (BHTV) is doing a special for their weekly Tech Talk segment on shotcrete formed pools in freezing weather. And who better to advise the Tech Talk reporters than the MAS™ construction support team led by Adam Lake of Cedar City Utah.
Look for Channel 3’s coverage and the MAS™ contribution when it airs in January in Brian Head, Utah.
Even in this down economy, pool & spa construction continues as a cost effective solution to recreate at home. The MAS™ team looks forward to their role in the coverage of this annual show.

SPiFolding™ an Exoskeleton system to facilitate MAS™ system construction is coming 1st Quarter 2012
An exoskeleton system made up of scaffolding pipe used to support workers building a MAS™ system. Replaces the need for a mobile man lift. SPiFolding™ is easy to assemble using a no-bolt design that uses sleeves and pins to connect all sections. Fully assembled Leg Sections can be transported from structure to structure using a custom Bucket Bracket on a Skid Steer or Front Loader significantly reducing the “take down” – “reassembly” time. One or more platform systems are quickly moved around the SPiFolding™ structure to safely support workers during the construction process.
For more information please visit SPiFolding™ in the MAS™ 3rd party option section.
ACCL Kenya Project Breaks Ground
Black Cotton Soil is one of the most difficult sub surfaces to build upon.
A rich proportion of montmorillonite is found in Black cotton soil from mineralogical analysis. A high percentage of montomonillonite renders a high degree of expansiveness. These properties result in cracks in the soil without any warning. These cracks may sometimes extend to severe limits like ½” wide and 12” deep. So typical buildings constructed on this soil may suffer severe damage with the change of atmospheric conditions. However the MAS structures and not subject to such issues due to their monolithic construction.
As can be seen in the images below, such Black Cotton soil is easily dealt with by ACCL a MAS Distributor for Modern Arch Structures. ACCL has just broken ground in Kenya building a MAS-570™ and MAS-1300™ using local labor and supplies.
ACCL has a proven track record of making the impossible, possible and bringing projects in under budget and ahead of schedule.

ACCL Kenya Church Project Office & Safety Equipment
A field office has been setup to house the onsite Foreman and Contractor’s personnel. You will note below the safety equipment in the background.
ACCL Kenya Church Project Unit License Posting
All projects require the posting of the Unit License within 25 feet of each MAS unit under construction. The following photos show compliance.
ACCL Kenya Church Project – MAS Field Instructor Professor Edwards Field Training Class
ACCL elected to have field training done for Contractor, Foreman and Specialty Worker specialties in Kenya. Although ACCL had MDA Distributor training in Utah, the shear number of personnel that needed to be trained to create a work force for future projects made field training a cost effective solutions. In the photos below you will see Professor Edwards (the creator of the MAS system) teaching students in room provided by the local church. Professor Edwards traveled to Kenya with a training field kit that includes plastic models, and electronic visual aids. In field training is both cost effective and can speed up the training process when a projects schedule dictates that training be done concurrently with construction. Professor Edwards is a T5 certified trainer and is certified as a Contractor, Foreman and in all Specialty Worker areas.
