Actual weights on sand and aggregate may change based upon your concrete provider. The following are approximate weights only.
(1) Cement Powder (per cubic yard), 4,000 PSI often times accomplished with a 6 bag mix: 540 lbs
(2) Washed Concrete Sand (per cubic yard): 1345 lbs
(3) Aggregate (per cubic yard): 2010 lbs
(4) Admix water proofing: consult engineer as this may not be needed (typically sold by the gallon)
(5) MAS-HELIX™ is a micro-rebar that is critical to the structural integrity of the MAS structures. MAS does not offer a re-bar ONLY solution due to the inability to achieve consolidation through the dense re-bar spacing required without MAS-HELIX™. In addition, it is not possible to achieve the sheer strength necessary within the 4″ thick concrete shell used in the MAS structures without MAS-HELIX™. MAS-HELIX™ is less expensive than re-bar and eliminates a significant amount of labor associated with the installation of re-bar. MAS Engineering, in conjunction with your local Engineer of Record, will provide an exact MAS-HELIX™ dosage and re-bar count when final analysis is completed on your project. Such MAS-HELIX™ dosage and re-bar count will be reflected on the Building Plan Package supplied to the builder. The figures used in the above tables represent a good starting point for the purposes of calculating costs only. Variations will be minimal.
DO NOT USE ANY OF THE FIGURES IN THESE TABLES FOR CONSTRUCTION PURPOSES.
- OPTIONAL Insulation
Insulation is OPTIONAL and is considered a 3rd party accessory. A thickness of 3″ gives an R60 equivalent value. The following table assumes 3″ of insulation will be used. Many times 1″ or 2″ is sufficient for your environmental conditions. If using 1″ then multiply the values shown by 1/3 (0.34). If using 2″ then multiply the values shown by 2/3 (0.67).

- MAS™ Per Unit ADELS Fee (ADELS Fee)
Each MAS™ system (unit) requires this fee to be paid. There are NO quantity discounts. The ADELS Fee covers the architecture, engineering, design (system plans), technical & logistical support, Southern Utah University (SUU) royalty fee, and warranty. Certification of trade personnel and companies is NOT included in this ADELS Fee. MAS™. Through it’s educational partners, SUU and Applied Technologies Centers (ATC), offers minimal cost training classes in Southern Utah (USA). Travel costs, lodging and meals are the responsibility of the training class attendees. However, MAS™ has arranged for substantial local lodging and restaurant discounts for attendees. Please contact the MAS™ Licensing & Certification Division for more information on certification packages.
