Construction moving along nicely. Pad and tension ring were poured in a single day. The air form ring was secured the next day and form inflated. Corner cage forms were also set by trainees. With snow on the horizon the air form was tested to verify it would automatically clear snow. This work excellent. A flip of the switch and the new MAS™ mini blowers came to life and inflated the air form causing ALL snow to slide off within 5 minutes.

Training will continue through the week on air form and cage setup. Next week we expect to move into shotcrete training weather permitting.

FYI: The first group of trainees were able to set up the air form ring in 7.5 minutes. The 2nd group. with the benefit of having watch group #1, did it in 4 minutes. It appears that two anchors at each arch leg/tension ring area is the ideal air form mounting method for this project. By using concrete anchors in the arch area, they will be hidden after construction. Remember to follow the MAS™ air form ring procedures for YOUR project.

For all those persons trying to get time on the shotcrete nozzle please contact Professor Edwards ASAP. It is NOT too late to accommodate a few more individuals needing shotcrete hours for MCL-2, 3 or 4 certification. Those wishing to apply these hours to MCL-4 certification MUST register 72 hours in advance as you MUST take the 1 hours orientation course prior to accumulating any hours.
